AUS GLOBAL partners with the United Nations to promote Global Sustainable Development

We are honored to share that AUS GLOBAL, as an invited guest of the United Nations forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (UNSTI), successfully completed the important mission of this event on June 20, 2024 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.The forum brought together dignitaries and renowned business people from around the world to discuss important topics such as global fintech development and environmental protection.

In this world-renowned forum, Ms. NAIMA DAYF, Executive Director of AUS GLOBAL, performed a 15-minute speech on behalf of the company at the main podium of the United Nations.

Her speech not only showcased AUS GLOBALs outstanding achievements in the field of FinTech innovation and sustainability, but also provided insights into how the company has integrated the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its corporate strategy to promote the sustainable development of FinTech globally.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good Morning!

Today, Id like to share to you about the critical role of science, technology, and innovation (STI) in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

My name is Naima, Im from France and I came all the way from Dubai to represent my company AUS Global. I hold a master degree in law and political science.

As we gather here today, the world faces a multitude of interconnected challenges, from poverty and inequality to climate change and environmental degradation. These challenges are complex and daunting, but they also present an unprecedented opportunity for STI to drive positive change and shape a more sustainable future for all.

The 17 SDGs, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provide a comprehensive framework for addressing these global challenges. They encompass a wide range of issues, from eradicating poverty and hunger to ensuring access to quality education and healthcare, promoting sustainable economic growth, and protecting the environment. At the heart of these goals lies the recognition that we cannot achieve sustainable development without STI.

STI has the power to transform societies and economies, enabling us to find innovative solutions to some of the worlds most pressing problems. For example, STI can help us develop new clean energy technologies, improve agricultural productivity, and design more sustainable cities and infrastructure. It can also empower individuals and communities, providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to improve their lives and livelihoods.

The private sector has a crucial role to play in harnessing STI for sustainable development. Businesses can invest in research and development, develop innovative products and services, and adopt sustainable practices throughout their operations. They can also collaborate with governments, civil society, and academia to share knowledge and expertise, and scale up successful solutions.

Here are some specific examples of how STI is already making a difference in achieving the SDGs:

In the fight against climate change, STI is helping us to develop renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, and improve energy efficiency. It is also helping us to monitor and predict climate patterns, and develop early warning systems for extreme weather events.

In the pursuit of zero hunger, STI is helping us to increase agricultural productivity, reduce food waste, and improve access to markets. It is also helping us to develop more resilient crops and livestock that can withstand the impacts of climate change.
