Market Instruments

Tradeable Instruments available at GFG88 includes, Forex, Spot metals; Trading spot metals with GFG88.com allows you to speculate on the price movements of gold (XAU/USD) or silver (XAG/USD) relative to the US dollar.

Our spot metals markets are quoted and traded in a very similar way to currency pairs. Trading is available 24 hours a day from Sunday 11pm GMT through to 10pm Friday GMT.

The 'spot' price refers to the price quoted for the metal to be paid for (including delivery) two days following the date of the transaction (the settlement date).

Spot gold and silver trades globally over the counter with the main centres for trading in London, New York, and Zurich. Liquidity in the spot metals market is typically highest when European market hours overlap with trading in New York, and the market can experience periods of illiquidity around the close of the US market. And also Crude oil.

Oil contracts at GFG88.com trade like currency pairs, though with different margin and leverage. One oil contract represents 1000 barrels (bbls) of oil, priced in US dollars.

Oil contracts are 'Contracts for Difference' (CFDs), which are over-the-counter trading instruments with an expiry date that are cash settled.

Types of oil

GFG88.com offers clients 2 oil contracts – Brent Crude (BCO/USD) and West Texas Intermediate (WTI). Crude oils are classified as either Light or Heavy depending on their API gravity, and as either Sweet or Sour, depending on their sulphur content. Brent Crude is a “light, sweet” blend, gathered from several oil fields in the North Sea, which is where the name 'Brent' comes from. It is typically priced higher than the OPEC composite price. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) is a “lighter, sweeter” blend, and is typically priced higher than Brent. (Source: The Energy Information Administration)

GFG88 offers a single Trading account with Demo account also and leverage of about 100:1.

Trading with leverage 100:1, means you aren't required to put up the full value of the open position, you just need to deposit around 1% as margin.

1 Standard contract ( 1 lot ) needs $1000 margin.

0.1 Standard contract ( 0.1 lot ) needs $100 margin.

0.01 standard contract ( 0.01 lot ) needs $10 margin
