Purpose
The Hong Kong foreign exchange market in China has developed into an international forex market since the 1970s. As one of the world's major financial centers, the Hong Kong forex market holds a pivotal position in the financial landscape of Asia and globally, thanks to its high degree of openness, vibrant trading environment, and robust regulatory framework. To help investors or practitioners gain a more comprehensive understanding of forex brokers in this region, an on-site inspection team conducted field visits in Hong Kong, China.
Process
The on-site inspection team visited the forex broker WMX in Hong Kong, China as scheduled. According to public information, its office address is "Flat A, 24/F, Prince Industrial Building, 706 Prince Edward Road, East San Po Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong".
A professional and experienced on-site inspection team, driven by a sense of mission to rigorously safeguard investors' interests, meticulously planned and traveled to Hong Kong, China, to conduct an on-site verification of the dealer WMX claiming to be located at the aforementioned address.
The inspection personnel successfully arrived at Prince Industrial Building, located at 706 Prince Edward Road East, San Po Kong, Kowloon. The surrounding environment is relatively ordinary with a mediocre commercial atmosphere. The building is quite old, serving as an industrial property primarily used for storing goods. No signage or relevant information of the company was found on the exterior of the building.
The field investigator entered the building lobby and, after explaining their purpose to the security personnel, smoothly obtained entry permission. Inside the building, no signage or information about the company was found.
Upon arriving at the target floor, the 24th floor, the field investigator found no clear signage or security measures for WMX. Although the investigator reached the specific floor and confirmed the location, they were unable to enter the so-called company premises due to the absence of any visible information about the broker. Additionally, they could not photograph the reception area or its logo, and the office was not a shared workspace.
Through the common areas of the floor, it was not possible to observe the internal environment of the company as access to the interior was restricted.
Therefore, after on-site verification, it is confirmed that the dealer WMX does not exist at the above address.
Conclusion
The on-site investigator visited the forex broker WMX at its publicly displayed business address in Hong Kong, China as planned, but could not find any information such as the company name of the broker, indicating that the broker does not have a genuine business premises. Investors are advised to make their choices after comprehensive consideration.
