Purpose
The foreign exchange market of Hong Kong, China is a mature offshore foreign exchange market that developed in the 1970s. As one of the world's important financial hubs, it has distinctive features such as a well-established regulatory system, high cross-border trading activity, and a concentration of international capital, and it is a core hub for foreign exchange trading in the Asia-Pacific region. To help investors gain a more comprehensive understanding of the actual operations of licensed and registered foreign exchange dealers in the region, we traveled to Hong Kong, China, to conduct an on-site visit.
Process
This visit, as planned, will go to Hong Kong, China to conduct an on-site visit to the forex broker Haitong Futures, and according to public information, its office address is Unit 1201-03, Cofco Tower, 262 Gloucester Road, Hong Kong.
A professional and experienced field inspection team, with a sense of mission to strictly safeguard investors, traveled to Hong Kong, China according to a well-planned itinerary. They conducted an on-site verification of the broker Haitong Futures, which claims to be located at Unit 1201-03, Cofco Tower, 262 Gloucester Road, Hong Kong.
We successfully arrived at Cofco Tower, which is located in the core business district of Wan Chai, Hong Kong. There were no relevant signs of the corresponding broker in the surrounding street environment, and the overall area has a strong commercial atmosphere. We captured a complete panoramic view of the building, but throughout the building exterior we did not find any company signs or promotional information related to Haitong Futures.
The field inspectors entered the first-floor lobby of the building and explained their purpose to the security guard. After a brief information registration and communication, they successfully obtained permission to enter the building.
After arriving at the target floor, the 12th floor, the field inspectors found that the office area of Unit 1201-03 had no obvious signs bearing the name Haitong Futures, nor any corresponding security measures. Because the company had not been booked in advance and the security guard had informed them beforehand that this institution was not in the building, they could not enter the unit. They were unable to photograph the corresponding broker's front desk or front desk LOGO throughout the visit. The office area was also not a shared office.
Through the glass door, it could be seen that the office area inside the unit was closed, and it was impossible to observe the internal decoration style or employee activity. The overall environment completely failed to match the positioning claimed by Haitong Futures of operating at this address.
After arrival, it was confirmed that the physical address actually exists, but no information about the broker was found throughout the visit. After asking the security guard, the guard clearly stated that there was no such company in the building. It was determined that the broker does not exist at the publicly listed address above.
Conclusion
Visitors went to Hong Kong, China as planned to conduct an on-site visit to the forex broker Haitong Futures, but at its publicly displayed business address, they were unable to see the broker's company name or other information, indicating that the broker does not have a genuine business premises. Investors are advised to verify information from multiple sources and then make a prudent choice.
