A Visit to GCM ASIA in Russia – No Office Found
Danger Belarus

Reasons for Field Survey

Leveraging regional financial development, the Belarusian foreign exchange market has gradually established an operating system encompassing diverse institutions, making it a key venue for local investors to participate in foreign exchange transactions. To help investors gain a direct understanding of the true operational status of brokers in the region and mitigate the risks associated with information bias, a field research team conducted a field visit to Belarus.

Field Survey Process

This time, the on-site inspection team traveled to Belarus to conduct an on-site inspection of the forex broker GCM ASIA. Publicly listed offices are listed as Mikhail Savitsky str., 1, Room 151, 220065, Minsk, Republic of Belarus.

Upholding the responsibility of rigorously verifying the broker's business location, the professional field research team conducted an on-site visit to GCM ASIA, based on the publicly available address, in accordance with established plans. The goal was to verify the broker's actual business location.

The field research team traveled to Minsk, Belarus, and conducted an on-site verification of GCM ASIA, which claimed to be located at Mikhail Savitsky str., 1, Room 151, 220065, Minsk, Republic of Belarus. Upon arrival, the field research team discovered that the building at the address was a residential apartment, not an office as publicly stated. The surrounding streets were ordinary, and only panoramic photos of the apartment building were successfully captured. No company signs, office signs, or business signs related to GCM ASIA were found outside the apartment building or in the surrounding area. The overall environment was completely residential, with no commercial office atmosphere.

The surveyors then entered the apartment building lobby (the public entrance hall of a residential building) and carefully examined the lobby for signs with company information. They found no record of GCM ASIA's presence or office operations. When the surveyors inquired with the apartment management whether GCM ASIA was operating in Room 151, they clarified that the apartment was exclusively residential, with no commercial company occupants. They had never heard of the company, nor did they know of Room 151 being used as an office.

Although the surveyors reached the floor where Room 151 was located by elevator and located it, they discovered that it was a residential residence, with no company signs on the door and the door closed, clearly indicating residential use and not an office. Because the room was a private residence, the surveyors were unable to enter, further confirming that it was not a GCM ASIA office.

Furthermore, the GCM ASIA logo was absent from the building's interior or exterior. The surveyors were unable to determine whether it was a shared office (it was actually a residential building, lacking shared office facilities), nor were they able to photograph the company's front desk or logo. Since GCM ASIA did not actually exist at the address, the internal office environment, number of rooms, and number of workstations could not be verified.

Based on the on-site inspection, the surveyors confirmed the address as a residential apartment, and despite a thorough investigation, they found no trace of GCM ASIA's business operations.

Therefore, the survey confirmed that GCM ASIA did not exist at the aforementioned address, concluding that the brokerage was a fictitious entity, lacking any real office or business premises.

Field Survey Summary

The surveyors visited the Forex broker GCM ASIA as planned. They could not find the broker's company name and other information at its publicly displayed business place, indicating that the broker does not have a real business location. Investors are advised to consider this information comprehensively before making decisions.
