Purpose
The Hong Kong foreign exchange market in China is an international forex market that developed in the 1970s. As one of the international financial centers, the Hong Kong forex market is characterized by active trading, high liquidity, and a rich variety of trading products. To help investors or practitioners gain a more comprehensive understanding of forex brokers in this region, an on-site inspection team conducted field visits in Hong Kong, China.
Process
The on-site inspection team proceeded as planned to visit the forex broker New Pacific in Hong Kong, China. According to public information, its office address is 17/F, Tower 2, Silvercord, 30 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
A professional and experienced on-site inspection team, driven by a sense of mission to rigorously safeguard investors' interests, meticulously planned and proceeded to New Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui, Canton Road No. 30, New Port Centre Tower 2 in Hong Kong, China, to conduct an on-site verification of the dealer New Pacific claiming to be located at this address.
The inspection personnel successfully arrived at New Harbour Centre Tower 2, located at Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The surrounding area is bustling with a strong commercial atmosphere. No signage or relevant information of the company was found on the exterior of the building.
The surveyor entered the building lobby and stated their purpose to the security or staff. After communication, they obtained entry permission. On the directory inside the building, they found that this floor did not contain information for the company in question.
Upon arriving at the target floor, the 17th floor, the field investigator found no visible signage or security measures for New Pacific in the office area, and the company was absent, leading to the conclusion that it was fraudulent.
Since the company was not found, the surveyor could not enter the interior, nor could they take photos of the reception area and its logo. Additionally, the office is not a shared workspace.
Through the common areas on the floor, as it was not possible to enter the company's interior, the internal environment of the company could not be observed, and the overall situation could not be determined to be consistent with its claimed positioning.
Therefore, after on-site verification, it was confirmed that the dealer New Pacific does not exist at the above address.
