The international forex market in Hong Kong has been developing since the 1970s. The forex market has become more and more active, developing into an international forex market. Hong Kong forex market is an invisible market without a fixed trading venue. Traders conduct forex transactions through various modern communication facilities and computer networks. Hong Kong’s geographical location and time zone conditions are similar to those of Singapore, making it very convenient to trade with other international forex markets. Participants in Hong Kong forex market are mainly commercial banks and financial companies. There are three types of forex brokers in this market: local brokers, whose business is limited to Hong Kong; international brokers who have expanded their business to the Hong Kong forex market since the 1970s; international brokers that grow locally and has expanded their business to forex markets abroad. In an attempt to help investors or practitioners gain a more comprehensive understanding of current status of forex brokers in Hong Kong, WikiFX survey team plans to pay on-site visits to local companies.

On-site visit

In this issue, the survey team went to Hong Kong, China to visit forex broker BPS CAPITAL as planned according to its regulatory address that Unit B5, 1/F, Manning Industrial Building, 116-118 How Ming Street, Kwun Tong, Hong Kong.

The seasoned and professional inspection team, committed to safeguarding investor interests, conducted a meticulously planned on-site investigation of the broker BPS CAPITAL at 116-118 How Ming Street in Kwun Tong.

Manning Industrial Building, located at 116-118 How Ming Street in Kwun Tong, exhibits a distinct sense of age, with outdated architectural features and a generally dilapidated appearance. The facilities in public areas are poorly maintained, giving the impression of an overall old commercial building.

The primary task of the investigators was to precisely locate “Unit B5 on the 1st Floor.” However, upon entering the building’s ground floor area, they immediately encountered a major obstacle: the on-site numbering system was chaotic and unclear. After repeated and meticulous inspections, they confirmed that there was no unit or room labeled “B5” whatsoever. The specific address “B5, 1/F, 116-118” could not be matched to any physical location, casting serious doubt on the authenticity of the registered information for the first time.

To verify the company’s existence, the inspection team immediately shifted their focus to checking key identifiers inside the building—the public directory boards. A thorough inspection of the directory listings in the lobby and elevator lobbies on each floor revealed no mention of “BPS CAPITAL” or any significantly related company name. Since the company did not appear in the building’s official tenant directory, its likelihood of operating there diminished further. They also searched the building’s exterior and ground-floor public areas but found no company signage, plaques, or logos bearing the name “BPS CAPITAL.”

Through the on-site investigation, it is confirmed that the broker does not maintain a physical presence at the above address.

Conclusion

The survey team went to Hong Kong, China to visit forex broker BPS CAPITAL as scheduled but did not find the company at its regulatory address. It indicates that the broker does not have a physical office at the place. Accordingly, investors are advised to make a well-considered decision following much deliberation.
