Reason for this visit

The international forex market in Hong Kong has been developing since the 1970s. Due to the removal of forex control in Hong Kong since 1973, there has been a large inflow of international capital, and an increasing number of financial institutions operating forex business have mushroomed. The forex market has become more and more active, developing into an international forex market. Hong Kong forex market is an invisible market without a fixed trading venue. Traders conduct forex transactions through various modern communication facilities and computer networks. Hong Kongs geographical location and time zone conditions are similar to those of Singapore, making it very convenient to trade with other international forex markets. Participants in Hong Kong forex market are mainly commercial banks and financial companies. There are three types of forex brokers in this market: local brokers, whose business is limited to Hong Kong; international brokers who have expanded their business to the Hong Kong forex market since the 1970s; international brokers that grow locally and has expanded their business to forex markets abroad. In an attempt to help investors or practitioners gain a more comprehensive understanding of current status of forex brokers in Hong Kong, WikiFX survey team determines to pay on-site visits to local companies.

On-site visit

In this issue, the survey team went to Hong Kong, China to visit broker CJS as planned according to its regulatory address that Units 1908, 19/F, Cosco Tower, No.183 Queens Road Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.

A seasoned and professional inspection team, committed to safeguarding investor interests, conducted a meticulously planned on-site verification of the prominent forex broker CJS at Cosco Tower in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.

The target address is located in the core financial and commercial district of Sheung Wan, Hong Kong, surrounded by dense pedestrian traffic and a vibrant business atmosphere. This area offers convenient transportation access and a wide range of amenities, including financial institutions, dining establishments, retail stores, and residential buildings. As a landmark office tower in the district, COSCO Tower features a modern exterior and towering floors, embodying the quintessential characteristics of a bustling commercial district.

Subsequently, the investigators successfully entered the building lobby without requiring special access. The lobby featured a visitor registration desk, but no access credentials were requested. Public areas were well-maintained, with security personnel on duty and the overall environment clean and orderly. A directory listing tenant companies by floor was displayed in the lobby, but upon cross-checking, the inspection team found that the name of the enterprise corresponding to Unit 1908 on the 19th floor was not explicitly listed. To gain a more comprehensive understanding of the actual situation, the team proceeded to the 19th floor.

The investigators took the elevator directly to the 19th floor. The corridor was spacious and well-lit, with a clear layout of office spaces. Upon arriving at Unit 1908, a bilingual (Chinese-English) sign reading “CJS INTERNATIONAL” along with the company logo was affixed to the glass door, closely matching the registered name “CJS”. Although the floor directory did not indicate the company name for this unit, the clear door signage directly confirmed the physical presence of the business.  

As access to the interior was unavailable, they could only observe the office environment through the glass door.   The workspace appeared to adopt a minimalist design, with neatly arranged workstations. However, the exact number of workstations and the full office layout could not be confirmed due to access restrictions.

Through the on-site investigation, it is confirmed that the broker maintains a physical presence at the above address.

Conclusion

The survey team went to Hong Kong, China to visit broker CJS as scheduled and found the company at its regulatory address. It denotes that the broker has a physical office at the place. Meanwhile, investors are advised to make a well-considered decision following much deliberation.
