Reasons for Field Survey
Turkey's foreign exchange market is highly active, with no foreign exchange controls. Residents can freely hold foreign currency and remit funds in and out without restrictions. In recent years, investor interest in Turkish forex trading has grown, attracting numerous international financial institutions. To help investors accurately understand the actual performance of brokers in the region and mitigate the risks associated with information bias, the field research team conducted a field visit to Turkey.
Field Survey Process
This inspection targeted Fetih, a trading company. Its publicly registered office address is Yenibosna Merkez Mah. Ladin Sok. Kuyumcukent Atölye Bloğu No: 4/1123 Bahçelievler / İSTANBUL (4/1123 Kuyumkent Workshop Building, Ladin Street, Yenibosna Central District, Bahçelievler District, Istanbul, Turkey). The inspection team rigorously located and verified the address.
Upon arrival, the inspectors first confirmed the street number was consistent with the publicly available information. They successfully located the address and captured a panoramic view of the building. There are no dedicated corporate campuses surrounding the building, and the streetscape is primarily scattered with commercial stores, lacking the commercial atmosphere of financial institutions.
The inspectors then had unimpeded access to the building lobby. A sign advertising the occupants was displayed, but all of it listed businesses related to gold processing and jewelry sales. No information regarding financial trading companies related to Fetih was found. The inspection team discovered that the room was actually a large physical gold trading center. Its interior was primarily furnished with gold display cabinets and trading counters, a scene reminiscent of physical commodity trading, unrelated to the offices of a financial trading company.
The inspection team attempted to contact the gold trading center staff to confirm whether there was any office area related to Fetih. The staff clearly stated that the location had long been a physical gold trading venue and had never been occupied or shared by any other company named Fetih. Furthermore, the office environment inside the room was rudimentary, meeting only basic physical trading needs and lacking the office facilities expected of a financial trading institution. The inspection team found no Fetih logo or signage inside or outside the building. Upon verification, while the address and street number matched, the actual use lacked any core evidence proving Fetih's actual operations.
Therefore, the inspection confirmed that the trading company Fetih does not exist at the aforementioned address.
Field Survey Summary
The surveyors visited the Fetih as planned. They could not find the broker's company name and other information at its publicly displayed business place, indicating that the broker does not have a real business location. Investors are advised to consider this information comprehensively before making decisions.
