Background of Eightcap broker

Eightcap Global Limited operates under several related entities, including Eightcap Pty Ltd in Australia, Eightcap Group Ltd in the United Kingdom, and Eightcap EU Ltd in Cyprus, alongside an offshore entity in the Bahamas. The broker markets itself as a forex and CFD provider with access to more than 800 instruments spanning forex, commodities, indices, shares, and cryptocurrencies. It has been operating for fifteen to twenty years according to WikiFX data, which places it among the more established names in the retail forex space, even as questions about its offshore structure and complaint volume persist.

Eightcap Regulation and Licenses

Regulation eightcap watchers pay closest attention to is the core of what determines whether a broker is trustworthy, and Eightcap's regulatory footprint is genuinely mixed.

  • ASIC (Australia) — Eightcap Pty Ltd holds a Market Making license, number 391441, regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
  • FCA (United Kingdom) — Eightcap Group Ltd holds a Straight Through Processing license, number 921296, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
  • CySEC (Cyprus) — Eightcap EU Ltd holds a Straight Through Processing license, number 246/14, regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • SCB (Bahamas) — Eightcap Global Limited holds a Retail Forex license, number SIA F220, and this is classified as offshore regulation rather than tier one oversight.
  • FSA (Seychelles) — an additional offshore derivatives trading entity point (EP) is registered here as well.

Notably, Eightcap previously held a Vanuatu Forex Trading license through the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission, and that license has since been revoked. WikiFX also flags the broker under a High Potential Risk label because of this mix of tier one and offshore regulation eightcap operates under simultaneously. On top of that, the UK's FCA has published a warning about a clone firm using the Eightcap name (eightcap.vip), which is not affiliated with the authorized entity, and Indonesia's commodity futures regulator BAPPEBTI has previously listed the broker among blocked trading websites in that jurisdiction.

The takeaway for anyone researching eightcap regulation is this: the Australian, UK, and Cyprus licenses are real and verifiable, but clients dealing with the Bahamas or Seychelles entities are operating under much lighter oversight, and clone websites impersonating the brand add another layer of risk.

Accounts Eightcap Offers

Eightcap forex trading is structured around three account types, all requiring a minimum deposit of 100 US dollars:

  1. Standard Account — spreads from 1.0 pips, no commission, suited to traders who prefer simpler, all in pricing.
  2. Raw Account — spreads from 0.0 pips, with a commission of roughly 3.5 AUD/USD/NZD/SGD/CAD (2.25 GBP, 2.75 EUR) per side per standard lot, aimed at active and volume traders.
  3. TradingView Account — built specifically for clients who want to trade directly through the TradingView interface, with pricing comparable to the Standard account.

Leverage varies sharply depending on which regulator a client falls under. ASIC caps leverage at 1:30 for retail clients, while the Bahamas entity allows leverage up to 1:500, a gap that matters a great deal when comparing what “eightcap regulation” actually protects a given client from. A 30 day demo account is also available across all account types, funded with virtual money so new users can test conditions before committing real funds. Notably, Eightcap does not offer Islamic (swap free) accounts, and an inactivity fee applies after six months without trading activity.

Trading Platforms

Eightcap supports three main platforms:

  • MetaTrader 4 (MT4) — full license, widely used for its stability, custom indicators, and expert advisor support.
  • MetaTrader 5 (MT5) — full license, offering more asset classes, timeframes, and order types than MT4.
  • TradingView — with more than fifteen customizable chart types including Kagi, Renko, and Point and Figure, up to eight synchronized charts per tab, and over ninety drawing tools.

WikiFX testing recorded an average execution speed of around 111 to 176 milliseconds depending on the measurement window, generally rated in the “AAA” tier for speed, with minimum execution latency around 45 milliseconds. Slippage, however, is a weaker point: average slippage was rated “Poor” in WikiFX's own testing, with a recorded maximum negative slippage of 18, a detail that lines up with a recurring theme in user complaints discussed below.

Conclusion

Any thorough eightcap review has to hold two things at once: this is a broker with genuine, verifiable licenses from ASIC, the FCA, and CySEC, competitive spreads, a wide range of instruments, and solid platform infrastructure through MT4, MT5, and TradingView. At the same time, the volume and nature of client complaints, the offshore entities operating under much lighter regulation, a revoked Vanuatu license, and confirmed clone site warnings mean that prospective clients should think carefully about which entity they are actually opening an account with, and should keep close track of their own trading records and communications with support. For anyone comparing broker eightcap options against competitors, the regulatory tier and entity you sign up under matters just as much as the headline trading conditions.
