Spain's CNMV Flags 9 Unauthorised Investment Platforms

WikiFX

Abstract:Spain's CNMV issued warnings on 20 July 2026 against nine investment platforms not registered to operate in the country, including a clone firm impersonating a legitimate EEA-authorised company. Investors are urged to verify registration before investing.

Default Image

Spain's National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) has issued warnings against nine investment platforms not registered to operate in the country, the regulator announced on 20 July 2026. None of the flagged entities hold a licence to provide investment services or conduct other regulated financial activities under CNMV supervision.

The warnings are part of the CNMV's ongoing effort to shield retail investors from unauthorised operators that solicit funds without regulatory oversight. Investors who hand money to unregistered firms have no access to Spain's investor protection schemes if something goes wrong.

The Nine Entities on the Watchlist

The CNMV named nine websites: evolutisgroup.co, INMEDIATO NYSTEX (inmediatonystex.es), BITCOIN TRADER ESPAÑA (bitcointraderai.com/es), ALTURA ALGO flagged as a clone (alturalgo.ai), BITSA also known as BITSA SAS (bitsacard.com), IQUANTUM FLUX (iquantumflux.com), MAXI WEALTH (maxi-wealth.org), ALGOBANK (algobanc.com), and XENO (xenoes.com).

None of these institutions appear in the Commission's official register. They are therefore not authorised to offer investment services or any other activities that fall under the CNMV's remit in Spain.

A Clone Firm Impersonating a Legitimate Operator

The CNMV explicitly labelled Altura Algo as a clone. The regulator stated that this entity has no connection whatsoever with Indication Investments Ltd, a properly registered investment firm authorised to provide services in Spain under the European Economic Area passporting regime with registration number 3201.

Clone firms mimic the name, branding, or website of a legitimate, regulated company to trick investors into believing they are dealing with the real thing. A familiar-looking name does not guarantee legitimacy.

How to Check Before You Invest

The CNMV reminded investors to verify a firm's registration status before committing any money. The regulator maintains an online database of warned entities to help investors identify potentially fraudulent platforms.

Investors can call the CNMV's investor service line at 900 535 015 to confirm whether an institution is registered. Anyone who encounters a suspected unauthorised investment offer is encouraged to report it through the CNMV's official enquiry form or its whistleblowing channel.

A Steady Stream of Warnings

The 20 July notice is the latest in a long series of public warnings from the CNMV. The regulator routinely updates its list of unregistered entities as new names surface, reflecting the persistent challenge that unauthorised investment platforms pose across Europe.

For retail investors, the message is straightforward: a glossy website and polished marketing do not equal regulatory approval. A quick check of the CNMV register can mean the difference between investing with a protected, supervised firm and losing money to an entity operating outside the law.
