This loss taught me some hard truths:

1. Trend is king—follow it! Going against the trend, especially in a strong one-way market, is like smashing an egg against a rock—suicidal! Since then, Ive thrown “catching the bottom” or “picking the top” ideas straight into the trash. Never again!
2. Discipline! Discipline! Discipline! Its everything!

Never add to a losing position! Trying to average down? Thats just digging a deeper grave. Cut losses early (reduce or stop out)—adding only makes it worse!

1. Control your bets—position sizing is your lifeline! I now have an iron rule: No single trade risks more than 2% of my capital. No matter how tempting the opportunity, this line must never be crossed!
2. Respect the market—don‘t overestimate yourself! The market is always right! My “gut feeling” or “I think it’ll rise or fall” means nothing against the trend. Humbly accept it!

This beating wasn‘t in vain! Weeks later, a similar situation arose. This time, I stuck to my lessons—followed the rules, stopped out when needed. Result? Only a 1.8% loss of my capital—no big deal! Most of my funds stayed safe. If I’d stubbornly held or recklessly added like before, the consequences wouldve been unthinkable. This lesson was worth it!
