Abstract:Nomura Holdings, Inc. stated today that it has decided to participate as a seller in a secondary offering at Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (NRI) and sell a portion of the shares of common stock it owns in NRI.

Nomura intends to sell a part of NRI's common stock (13 million shares), citing the need to maximize asset utilization.
The deal is planned to take place between December 5, 2022, and December 7, 2022.
Nomura plans to register a gain on the sale of affiliate shares (amount unspecified) in its FY2022/23 full-year and third-quarter consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements in connection with the transaction.
NRI will continue to be a Nomura equity method affiliate. NRI continues to be an essential affiliate for Nomura's business strategy, and the two firms will continue to form commercial ties and collaborations.
