IndustryThe Rippling Effect of Indo-US Trade on the Rupee
There was no respite for the rupee on September 2, 2025, as it continued to fall against the USD. The rupee fell by 8 paise to finish at an all-time low of 88.18 (provisional) as Indo-US trade deal uncertainties continue to linger. The trade uncertainties first led to a weak domestic equity market, which impacted the rupee movement against the USD. The persistent foreign fund outflows and increasing dollar strength did not help the rupee either. The rupee opened on a bad note at 88.14 at the interbank foreign exchange market and fell to an intraday low of 88.20.
