IndustryRupee Continues to Feel the Pinch Against USD
The rupee continues to script a chapter of decline by falling as steeply as 52 paise against the USD on August 4, 2025. It settled at a provisional count of 87.70 against the USD today on account of worsening investor sentiment over continued foreign fund outflows and trade tariff uncertainties.
According to forex traders, the tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump raised fresh concerns amid a much wider global trade disruption. Oil Marketing Companies’ demand for dollars further weighed in on the rupee fall.
The rupee opened at 87.21 against the USD at the interbank foreign exchange today and touched an intra-day low of 87.70.
