Spread manipulation and slippage traps devour principal. On the night of the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision in June 2025, I encountered malicious manipulation when trading USD/MYR on Headway. The platform advertised "ECN account spreads as low as 0.5 points," but when I opened a position, the EUR/USD spread suddenly soared from the normal 1.8 points to 15 points, and my 100,000 ringgit principal was instantly deducted from RM4,500 in fees. Even worse, when GBP/JPY hit my set take-profit point of 182.30, the platform showed slippage to 180.90, forcing a forced liquidation. The original RM8,200 profit turned into a loss of RM6,700. Headway's license does not cover Malaysian customers, which is an unauthorized operation. It's fake, stay away from this platform.

I chose this crappy platform,

I chose this crappy platform, Headway, and fell for their "data-based" claims. Now, withdrawing my money is incredibly difficult. The Malaysian team running it are a bunch of scoundrels! Last month, I saw some gains in my account and thought I'd withdraw my principal first. But after submitting a withdrawal request, I started waiting endlessly. Customer service initially said it would arrive in 3-5 business days, but after a week, nothing happened. I contacted them, and the Malaysian customer service staff started arguing, saying my withdrawal request had "data anomalies" and required additional information. I submitted the requested information again and again, but they still refused. It's clear they don't want me to withdraw! Now, not only can I not withdraw my money, I can't even log in! Is this what they call "data-based"? They're just using fake data to scam users out of their money!

Signed up for a reduced price trial for three months and forgot to cancel. They charged me almost $100 for another three months subscription with zero communication until afterwards, and refuse to give me a refund. The App itself might be ok, but customer Not a good experience! The overall process with pay is not great and cannot be equally.

It's a scam. The bonus

It's a scam. The bonus is tied to your principal, and unlocking it requires trading 3,800 lots. I was attracted by Headway's "Deposit RM50,000, get RM25,000" promotion and received the bonus after depositing. However, when I applied to withdraw my RM15,000 profit in February, I was told I needed to complete "200x trading volume" to unlock it. Based on my trading habit of 0.1 lots per trade, I would need to trade (50,000 + 25,000) × 200 ÷ 100,000 = 150 lots. The actual platform requires a 300x "bonus + principal" ratio, meaning I would need to trade 75,000 × 300 ÷ 100,000 = 225 lots. Based on the average Malaysian trading volume of 5 lots per day, this would take two years to complete. I requested to withdraw my principal and gave up my bonus, but was charged a 50% penalty (RM25,000). Ultimately, I was only able to withdraw RM25,000, a 50% loss on my principal. This should serve as a warning to everyone: don't use this unscrupulous platform. It's not trustworthy.

I requested withdrawal with was the exact one I used for a previous deposit. I headed straight to Local bank withdrawal only to see a comment attached that local bank transfer could take up to 7 business days. What sought of nonsense is that? If there should be any faster method outside of e-wallet it should be local bank transfer. This is making me doubt their sincerity as a broker

Headway You, a lousy platform, has taken all the money I earned from cooking in Thailand. Last Friday morning at 08.30, I was staring at the XAU/THB (gold to Thai baht) market. The night before, I stayed up late analyzing K-Line data for almost 10 days and managed to build a position of over 3 lots at 26,500. After clicking to confirm, the platform showed a blank white screen—my mouse clicks didn’t respond at all! I was drenched in sweat. I quickly restarted my phone, switched to my tablet, and logged in again, wasting 18 minutes just to get back in. By then, the price had surged to 26,780. I could have made a profit of 252,000 baht, but now, not only did I miss the opportunity, but due to the delayed execution, the follow-up position I added also resulted in another 98,000 baht loss. I complained to customer service, but the guy there was like a robot, just saying, 'There was excessive system traffic at that time—it’s normal fluctuation.' Normal fluctuation? My friend traded on another platform at the same time—why didn’t they have any issues? This month, I lost nearly 400,000 baht just because of Headway’s failed order execution! Headway, you deliberately caused delays and want us retail investors to lose money.
